Our Approach

By drawing on elements from the Humanistic, Cognitive/Behavioural, Psychodynamic and Existential psychologies, we have developed a powerful and comprehensive model of therapy, which is proving highly efficient for treating numerous issues. Along with having the therapeutic skills to assist our clients’ learning in an interactive and comprehensive manner, our therapists also teach psycho-therapeutic education to help our clients become better informed.

At Aspects Therapy, our clinical practice is based on the principle of wholeness. We have identified that quality health is totally reliant on the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person, being in a harmonious state. Throughout our years of service, we have gained a profound insight into the complexity of the human mind and into the nature of behaviour. We have seen into the core of suffering, but more importantly, into the vast scale of human potential.

At Aspects Therapy, we listen,

we understand, and we can help.

Due to my marriage break-up, Madelyn has helped me to discover my own identity as a woman.  Before going into therapy, I thought my life was over, but now realise, it’s a new beginning and I look forward to my future with hope and excitement.  I can’t express my appreciation enough for all the help and support I received through such a rocky time.

(Divorcee, 2014)

I feel truly blessed to have met Madelyn and feel privileged to have worked with such an amazing counsellor.  She is professional, trustworthy and sincere, and completely committed to easing the pain in humanity.

(Separation, 2011)

Thanks a million times over for getting me through such a difficult time.  Your help was, and still is immeasurable, and I continue to apply the new skills I learned at Aspects in my everyday life situations.  I have nothing but sincere gratitude for the wisdom and encouragement that Madelyn imparted.

(Social Anxiety, 2015)

When I started counselling I had reached my rock bottom and had lost the will to live.  Madelyn, who came highly recommended from a concerned friend, helped me to look at life from a different perspective.  My life has taken a turn for the better and for the first time ever, I now feel alive.

(Suicidal Client, 2012)

My mother was terminally ill before I commenced counselling.  Madelyn helped me to face the inevitable and encouraged me to make amends with my mother before she died.  I don’t think I could have gotten through it without understanding the grieving process attached.  Many thanks to Aspects for all the support and graciousness I received in my hour of need.

(Bereavement, 2014)

Madelyn’s gift lies in her ability to see the bigger picture and her insight into the human mind is beyond profound wisdom.  She is extremely knowledgeable and has a high level of awareness.

(Job Loss, 2013)

CBT has helped me to conquer my anxiety and fears.  I now recognise how my negative outlook was keeping me stuck.  I’ve learned new communication and assertiveness skills, which help me to manage life in a much better way.

(Anxiety Disorder, 2014)

I was on medication for years before I sought therapy.  I learned a completely new way of thinking and how to reclaim my power.  By exploring my past conditioning, I began to understand how my negative self-esteem was formed.  Many thanks for your support and understanding.  I am now completely off all of my medication, and I feel like a new person.

(Depression, 2013)

I overcame recurring panic attacks through the use of hypnotherapy.  In the past, I believed I suffered from some form of illness, and thought the panic attacks were beyond my control.  Through the reconditioning of my thought processes, I was able to take charge of my own mind, and now, the attacks have stopped completely.

(Panic Attacks, 2014)

I’ve been attending supervision with Madelyn since 2013.  Our work been invaluable and has helped me to gain both confidence and competence.  Her level of knowledge in the field of psychotherapy has helped me to bridge so many gaps in my training.  I’ve acquired such a better understanding around myself and my client work
